"The voices overlapped one another, screaming at him. Voices he himself had silenced in his pursuit of revenge, of the ghosts who lingered in every corner of his shop. Sweeney glanced around the room, shaking his head. No, he thought, none of this is real. Perhaps it was the gin, but he could see them now; decaying and dripping blood, they stood around the shop, empty eyes watching him in seething judgment and mouths gaping wide. Their expressions stood somewhere between rage and terror, and each of them had raised their right arm to point at him, as if to say, “here he is, the murderer! Get him!”"

After the final scene and Sweeney is left to sulk in the guilt, the ensemble haunts him in his drunk state.
This is the beginning of a project with me and my friend, Kat. I'll be illustrating the writing she makes from my story. I'm so incredibly excited to share the different illustrations I have in mind for our project with everyone. Do enjoy this piece! I had a lot of fun making it 😊
