Before all else, I'd like to say I like how this turned out
I was watching a lot of Avatar these holidays (//cough rewatched the entire series //coughcough) and really wanted to draw Echo performing her fire breather act for the Broken Toy Circus. I redesigned her outfit (again //slapped) to make it easier to move in. I like this outfit more than the original Egyptian styled one and I'd love to hear your opinions I'll possibly upload the same picture, but without the fire or background for those who may be interested in the new design :3
Echo's expression is one that I'm pretty sure I've never seen her with before. It's a kind of confidence and happiness mixed together. As much as she fears burning people, Echo can't deny the rush of exilleration at having a raw form of life flow through her... You also get to see her cute cat eyes like this Mostly I draw the pupils wider, so it was fun to have a bright light close enough to narrow them.
The actual fire came out better than I expected (fire has, for all my life, been rediculous to try to draw) I went through a bunch of tutorials, references, picures and speedpaints to try to learn how to draw it..

I think the last thing I wanted to mention is that I basically listened to this song: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFE4RF… on repeat while I was working on this picture. I think it suits the atmosphere of the picture perfectly (Helps that it's fire nation music XD)
