Someone thoughtΒ he could get away with scribbling all over my college books...Sketch will now be partaking in a game of 'How long can you hang on till you drop into freezing ice tea'?

Right... A better way to ask the question would be: Will she allow him to escape this punishment ? Should he manage to hang on to long for her taste will she lower her finger into the tea ? Should he manage to jump aside, will she grab him and drop him into the tea ?
The point was, if is faith is sealed and that he will definitively plunge into the tea sooner or later one way or an other... Is there any point to hang on and needlessly prolong his plight ?
PS: If this is freezing cold tea, then knowing how to swim would not help much. His muscles would stop functioning withing seconds. With a life jacket he would die in about 60 seconds if I'm not mistaken (it's possible for this to be much quicker for a tiny). But I can only assume that she does not intend on killing him. But I can think of safer punishments.

That's me and my paper child, I'd never let my littleΒ kid drop to his death. He did something wrong, I tease him with something likeΒ putting him over some tea, simple as that. And to answer your question: No, I didn't let him drop into it; this is Texas, this was a merciful punishment compared to what could've been done. Sketchaloo is fine, and now he understands discipline, as I hope others his age do.
