(EN) Somewhere, there is a world that is divided into two halves - the old and the new one. Those halves lie in a small workshop on two different tables, placed at the opposite walls - northern and southern, and the keeper wanders between the tables. He slowly steps from east to the west and back again, each time he carefully looks over that part of the world, which is to the right of him with his flat round face. The keeper’s name is Firmament. His face shines with eternal pleasure, and its light illuminates and suns that part of the world he’s currently looking at. His back is dotted with stars and the part of the world to his left enjoys their beauty and calm soft shimmer.

Usually while he is stepping, his forepaws are behind his back and he holds his capricious pale companion-Moon in one of them. The Moon shines dimly in the darkness, not because she loves this little world but only because of envy, and the keeper prefers to ignore her.

Firmament has no time to sleep, the only meaning of his life is in endless contemplation of a world divided in two halves, and he is infinitely happy about it. However, once a few decades or even hundreds of years, he wants to do a sweet, long yawn ... In this case, he takes his companion out of his back, covers his face with her and yawns at last. So, the settlers of the world to the right of him see the phenomenon which is known as Solar Eclipse

Они лежат в маленькой мастерской на двух разных столах, расположенных у противоположных стен - южной и северной, а в промежутке между столами бродит смотритель. Он неспешно идет с востока на запад и обратно, каждый раз внимательно оглядывая плоским кругом своего лица мир, который находится справа от него. Смотрителя зовут Небосвод. Его лицо светится от непрерывного удовольствия, и этим светом озаряется и согревается мир, на который он смотрит. Его спина усеяна звездами и мир слева от него наслаждается их красотой и мягким спокойным мерцанием.

Обычно он ходит, заложив передние лапы за спину и крепко зажав в одной из них свою капризную бледную спутницу-Луну. Луна тускло сияет во тьме, но не от любви, а от зависти, и смотритель предпочитает с ней не общаться.

Небосводу некогда спать, единственный смысл его жизни в этом бесконечном созерцании придуманного кем-то мира, разделенного пополам, и он бесконечно рад этому. Однако раз в несколько десятков, а то и сотен лет, ему хочется сладко, протяжно зевнуть... Тогда он вынимает из-за спины свою спутницу, прикрывает ею морду и делает это. А поселенцы того мира, который в эти минуты находится справа от него, наблюдают явление, которое называют Солнечное Затмение
