Okay.. as some of you may know, I'm going to be off to New York this evening (in Singapore time, dammit -_-;
to start my new schooling life in the School of Visual Arts. I'll be studying animation, and I don't doubt I'll have a ball.. but it's a big jump for me and I'm really going to miss home and my family. Even culturally, I'll have to adjust. It may not seem like it but the culture in America and Asia differ a LOT, even in a cosmopolitan society such as Singapore.. heck, I felt more at home in the mountain tribe village in Thailand when I was there than I did when I went to New York last year. So.. yeah, a lot of changes going to happen. But I just have to take the leap and hope I'm ready for it.This piece is supposed to symbolise that, me leaving the nest to soar into unknown skies. The other faces in the sky are supposed to represent my family - the greyhound my dad, the saluki my mum, and the corgi my brother - because I know they'll be supporting me all the way. And of course there's God too.. but then He's everywhere
Well, anyway, that's both me and my brother away for nine months a year. My parents will be thrilled to have the house to themselves again xDD

That is sooooo sweet! ^_^ I looked at the picture and my initial reaction was "Awww, that's cute, well drawn!" and I looked at the description and the first sentence I realized what it was about (good ol' slow me) and I'm like "OMG THATS SOOO SWEET" x3 I'm sure your family will appreciate it so much! It gives me a bit more confidence too, as I'm off to college in NY tomorrow too. ^^ I love how you've characterized your family! Your parents look so proud and graceful, and your brother looks encouraging and playful. And then you look strengthened by them and ready for a new adventure. ^_^ The picture is very well-rendered too, I very much love how you draw faces and ears! Altogether, a very touching and beautiful piece!

oh wow thats so meanigful, I can see how much of a change it owuld be, even from hearing from people that have holidayed in USA, its different to australia to..so compare that to singapore..and WOAH!
But I hope You have yeaps of fun,
the pick is wonderful, the faces of the dogs look all proud, cept for your brother......

I know it's scary, when I went to Florida for college for a few months.. it was a total and complete culture shock. I had come from a bitter and cold heartless city and entered another world.. the people were very nice too, unlike my how they are in my home town. But I did adjust. And you will too. Good luck. You'll have all of us supporting you along the way.

I like those wings X3 WAY better than the attempt I tried to do...;~; And the way the faces are somewhat faded in the background.
