...little lost one?Prize for *MoonsongWolf for winning the ~Canis-Obscura Rare Breeds contest with her gorgeous New Guinea Singing Dogs portrait. She requested a picture of her wonderful Akita-cross character Star, who was a complete delight to draw, and I love his colours too. I like naturalistic simple colour schemes a great deal.
She also mentioned that she liked seeing Star interact with other people's characters so just to be completely incongruous I picked my Muffy Maltese character and stuck her in some random forest at night for Star to happen upon. no wonder she looks nervous. (don't worry Muffy you will get a hot bath and doggy chocs later just for being in this picture. I loves my Muffy.)

Oh wow, this is an old picture. To answer your questions - I don't do requests sorry, and in any case my style is quite different these days. I had plans to make a really ambitious set of tutorials talking about drawing different kinds of dogs but I never got around to making it and probably won't have time at this point. Best I can advise is just study/draw lots of different dogs from life and then play around with stylizing them. You add a great dimension to cartoon designs when you know how to draw the real thing. Wow.. <33 Great body language! I think it's amazing how much breeding has changed dogs.. from near-wolves to little fluffs of white. xD It really shows when the two are juxtaposed like this.

i like how you're playing around with color schemes. it makes for a much more interesting picture than a boring old-white-light-white-background work.
i.e. a lot of my doodles.
