Description
Hollyleaf pulled her leg free of the rock, and raced through to the cave. She emerged near the Moonpool, and stopped, panting. A tortoiseshell pelt appeared from the shadows. "S-S-S-Sol? I-Is that you?" stammered Hollyleaf, one eye closed from the pain. "Hollyleaf? I thought you were dead?" replied Sol, yellow eyes showing true relief at seeing her. "Ow," hissed Hollyleaf, licking her injured leg. "Are you alright?" asked Sol, padding over and looking at her leg. "A rock fell on it when I ran into the tunnels," mewed Hollyleaf. "Come with me," meowed Sol, looking into Hollyleaf's eyes with those yellow eyes, that gaze that held her hostage. Holleyleaf stumbled to her feet and limped after Sol, letting out involuntary cries of pain as her leg dragged through the forest undergrowth. Sol loked back over his shoulder each time, worry in his eyes. Hollyleaf kept her eyes on his tortoiseshell pelt, the white patches gleaming. After about an hour of walking, they came to a den under a honeysuckle bush. Hollyleaf stumbled in, and was asleep almost at once. The next day, Hollyleaf woke to find a warm pelt pressed against her. She breathed in a familiar scent, and it all came rushing back to her, the Gathering, the cave, meeting Sol, the look in his eyes when he saw her hurt. "No!" thought Hollyleaf, frowning, "I can't love him! It's outside the Warrior Code.." Hollyleaf sighed. Her clan, her own brothers, thought she was dead. "I can never go back," she breathed, staring off into the distance. "You can stay with me, you know," came the soft whisper, gently ruffling her ear fur. "Thank you, Sol," mewed Hollyleaf. "I'm going out to hunt, I'll be right back with something for us," he mewed, slipping out of the den. he looked back at her, with a gleam in his eyes. Was it curiousity, or, maybe love. Hollyleaf put her head on her paws, and watched the sun rise over the horizon, turning everything a shade of orange. She saw a pelt move in the bushes.
"hello? Who's there?" called Hollyleaf, poking her head out of the den. A flash of claws, and her shoulder was ripped open. She let out a yowl of fear and pain. "Sol! Help me!" she wailed, fighting back, but hampered by her wounded leg. A flash of white and a ferocious snarl, and the cat was bundled away in a ball of fur. Sol stood in front of her, looking terrifying with his hackles up, and his eyes glinting murderously. the strange cat hissed and lunged. Sol met him with a screech, and ripped his flank open. Claws slashed and teet flashed, blood spattered Hollyleaf's face until the cat ran off wailing, scattering blood as he ran. "Are you okay?" asked Sol, covering her shoulder with licks. "Yes, I'm fine, thanks for helping me, again," mewed Hollyleaf, licking a scratch on his head. Sol looked up at her, stopping mid-lick. "I've waited for you, waited for you ever since I found you. I've been waiting for this chance, where you wouldn't be bound by the Warrior Code, so I could tell you," Sol faltered, but Hollyleaf pressed on, "So you could tell me what?" she asked, licking his bleeding ear now. "That, I love you," he mewed. Hollyleaf felt a rush of affection, exasperation, and joy. She gave her answer in a shower of licks and purring. Which to Sol told him more than words could ever say. He returned it with all his heart. All Hollyleaf could think was how she knew where she belonged, and that was with Sol. He would protect her, love her, and she would do the same for him. Forever.
Should i continue this? Should I not?
