Description
T.T My scanner destroyed it :/. Not that it was particularly good in the first place... >.>Anyway, I decided it'd be a neat idea to sketch some characters from my favorite vampire books and hopefully get others to read them too! ^.^ At least it keeps me distracted from teenage angst, right?
So yeah, beware long description.
From left to right:
-> Bram Stoker's Dracula of course! I just added him because he needed to be there, and made him all dramatic >.>
-> Mr. Crepsley from Darren Shan's Cirque Du Freak (Saga of Darren Shan to European readers). It's a great series, though to anyone not familiar with Shan's stlye, it may seem at bit off at first. But it is well worth the read! I love how the vampires have an almost Spartan-like moral code and it's got just so satisfyingly weird characters and such. And if you like those, go check out Demonata as well.
-> Aubrey from Demon in my View, by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. I can say with confidence this is the best vampire book I've ever read. Seriously. It's short, but it has the best writing style and plot of all of these books. Nice and gothic. It's amazing. Read it now!
-> Carnival from Alan Campbell's Scar Night is technically an Angel. But she drinks blood once a month to be immortal, and that counts as vampire in my book ^.^
If you like steampunk, you'll LOVE this book. The most original setting I've ever seen, simply astounding.
-Second Row-
-> Mircea from Touch the Dark by Karen Chance. It's been a while since I read it, but it's a wonderful urban-fantasy. Very fast paced and easy to get into (-plus explicit metaphysical sex
-> Edward, of course, from Twilight by Stephanie Meyer.
Yes, I finally read it. I kind of liked it. I liked the characters at least (except Bella, who needs to be shot in the face with a heavy dose of Natural Selection. Twice). But it was ridiculously full of fluff with a little bit of plot at the end.
-> The Vampire from The Vampire's Promise series, by Caroline B. Cooney. By far the most bizarre take on vampires, but that's why I like it. He's... just plain nasty. And I drew him like that because several times he is described to "sway" on his "trunk" and I always get that image in my head.
These books have an incredibly emo tone, with amazingly poetic prose for such a silly teenage angst.
But if you intend to read them, warning: DON'T READ THE THIRD ONE. The ending makes the whole book pointless.
-> Irrylath from Meredith Ann Pierce's The Darkangel. This is a neat book, because though it never actually says so, you can tell it is set on the Moon X3. Not even remotely Sci-Fi though, it's an awesome Fantasy. Great plot, great style, great ideas, and interesting characters.
He has like, 12 wings ~.^ which was difficult to draw...
Now go read them!!!!

I love Darkange.! And I have been stalking the A section in the library in wait for Demon in my View. I have read Shattered Mirror, also by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes though. Have you ever read Sunshine by Robin McKinley? That would be my favorite vampire book.
