I made this to express my disapproval of the way the writers decided to introduce and portray Starswirl, as an unlikable jerk with a big ego and mentality that once a villain always a villain, with no appreciation for the Mane 6's work to Equestria or even the Tree of Harmony. This was NOT the great Starswirl the Bearded I expected or wanted to ever see. It was one of my biggest disappointments of G4.

I understand that they probably wanted to share the message about not meeting your heroes and or that our idols can sometimes be just as flawed individuals as we are, but it wasn't worth ruining a potential great character for the show that was built up as a wise and mighty wizard and great hero. If they were trying to emphasize his inability to use the magic of friendship by making him an unlikable jerk, they did wrong. Just because someone doesn't know about friendship, or isn't as good at it as others, doesn't make someone a complete a**hole. Also Celestia only said that he wasn't as good in friendship as Twilight did, she didn't specifically say nor imply that he was bad at it. Most ponies aren't as good in friendship as Twilight is.
