At the School of Friendship, Solar and his friends are in their last class for the day, where their teacher gives them their assignment.

Ocellus: For this week, you'll be working on a public speaking assignment. You are to write and give a speech about someone who has impacted your life.

Summer Gale raises her hoof to ask a question.

Summer Gale: Can it be anyone?

Ocellus: Yes, Summer. It can be a family member. It can be someone you admire, that you know personally, have met before, or is part of history. Or even a fictional character.

The Young Mane 6 all smile, looking forward to this assignment, that presents an opportunity to share about someone important to them or that they idolized. When they exit the school, they discuss amongst each other who they're going to be writing about.

Solar: How exhilarating!

Lance: If you mean "exciting", then yes, it sure will be.

Summer Gale: I can't decide. There's JJ's mother Jungle Heart, my parents, my foalsitters; Frostine Brooks and Train Track. Also Professor Alphine, who I admire. They're all so important to me. I sure wish I could write about them all.

Liberty Apple: I'm sure you'll make the right choice, Summer.

Summer Gale: I hope so. So, how about you, Liberty?

Solar: I'm guessing both you and Lance will be giving a speech about your fathers, who were the Pillars?

Liberty Apple: Tempting, but I've decided it'll be mah great grandmare, Granny Smith, Faust rest her soul.

Divine Diamond: A splendid idea.

Solar: Yes, especially since she helped found Ponyville.

Lance: As for me, not my old man. It'll be about Branding Blade.

Solar: Who's Branding Blade?

Lance: Only the G.O.A.T of Equestrian warriors. Have you been living under a rock?

Sugary Pie: My ancestors did.

Chocolate Pie: And Equestrian warriors were goats?

Lance: *Face palms* No. *Turns back to Solar* My dad use to tell me stories of him fighting alongside Branding during their days as Pillars.

Solar: Wait, there was another Pillar, that I didn't know about?

Lance: Apparently so. Tell you what; meet me at our hangout spot . I'll tell you more about him there.

Later, Solar goes to meet Lance at the outdoor arcade in Ponyville. Lance, who was playing Dragon's slayer, presents him with a book labeled "Branding Blade- The Legendary Hero's Journey". On the title of said book, shows a blue unicorn stallion in silver armor with a sword, facing off against a gigantic monstrous creature.

Lance: He was the Pillar of Comradeship. A courageous warrior who always fought for his kingdom and to protect the innocent. A hero for the ages, still remembered to this very day.

Solar: What happened to him?

Lance: Nopony knows. He disappeared long ago, without a trace.

Solar: Just like the other Pillars did?

Lance: Maybe. But he didn't join them in the battle against the Pony of Shadows, and went on to accomplish much more before his own disappearance.

This all intrigues Solar Spell.

Lance: So, are you gonna write about him too?

Solar Spell: Nope. I'm going to be writing about the Equestrian Emperor Trotjan. But you motivated me to do another assignment of my own.

Lance: I did?

Solar doesn't answer him and lights his horn in its green aura before teleporting away, leaving a confused Lance in the outdoor arcade. Solar goes to Canterlot to talk to the Drill Sergeant of the Royal Guards, Lance's father.

Flash Magnus: What brings you to me, young prince?

Solar Spell: I was hoping you could teach me more about Branding Blade?

Flash Magnus: *Smiles* You've come to the right place. I haven't forgotten about my old brother-in-arms. What would you like to know?

Solar Spell: For one, why isn't he as well-known as the other Pillars?

Flash Magnus: Likely because he was known for more than just being a Pillar, wasn't one as long as the rest of us were. He didn't get the chance to plant the seed of his element for the Tree of Harmony.

Solar Spell: Okay. And do you have any idea what happened to him?

Flash Magnus: I'm afraid not. But I can tell you that his signature weapon was a blade known as the "Lightforce Sword".

Also, Emperor Trotjan is intended to be an Equestrian version of the Rome Emperor Trajan, and one of the rulers of Equestria. Based on Sombra's line in "Beginning of the End" about Grogar being the first Emperor of Equestria, there were likely more Emperors and Empresses after him. For my universe, Trotjan was one of them.
