Description Well, this took way too long. I started drawing it like two years ago or more and gave up for one reason or another. Finally decided to revisit it and it still took forever. Oh well, happy with it now!

I randomized the subjects of one of the 100 picture challenges between things I was interested in drawing, like my comic world or LoD or my writing characters. This one was "No Way Out" and I rolled the original Dragoons, so I chose this scene from chapter two of my fic, "Healer, Killer". (Amazingly, I am still working on it, but it's been piecemeal, so I don't have anything to show for it yet, and don't want to tease the few people who still care by updating until I have something substantial...) It's definitely the most detail I've ever put into the design of a couple "random enemies" who die within two paragraphs >.>

Though Shirley is using her knife in the story at this point, cuz the enemies are too close, I wanted to show her with her bow, so I suppose this is right before she switches, heh. And I lucked out by waiting so long to finish this pic, because I found a nice tutorial about drawing archers and I had totally done it wrong originally, but I was able to fix it. It's probably still not right, but at least better than before.

Some of the background was made with Horhew's tree brushes, found here .

Whenever I think back to my fan fiction days, "Healer, Killer" is always the first story I think of. An epically long epicy epic that had my imagination running wild for years. Whenever I played the game I reread your take on Shirley and Kanzas. I was sad when I realized it probably would never be updated--you were the only writer I knew of who took the Dragon Campaign so far. It was the best kept secret of the game, a treasure trove of storytelling, and you gave it to us. And this picture! You need to either make more of these pictures or deliver us to salvation with your story soon!

Thank you! I am definitely working on it, and am one more fight scene away from finally finishing that Mayfil chapter. I just burned out so hard (due to RL issues) that I could only get writing again by writing on scenes here and there, instead of in order, so I've actually gotten lots done, just not in a form I can show people yet...

Thanks It's on fanfic.net ([link] ), but I haven't been there in so long and it looks like they've done something with the formatting, argh. Everything's centered! I'm going to have to fix that (and it's being revised anyway, so I may as well just finish that stuff and fix it all at once).
