not sure if "surreal" is the right category, but with the tradit media, i never am sure.anyway. MUMFORD AND SONS. i am obsessed. and when i doodled a sad little head in the corner of my sketchbook, i decided to do some typography (is that the correct word? it feels like it is). so in her hair are the lyrics to white blank page and most of timshel, two of my favorite mumford songs.
that whole album is flawless, though, really.
um, yep. then i colored her face in with yellow copic and did her freckles and shading, as well as outlining two of the lines, with a silver paint pen. it doesn't look as good scanned, of course, but that's as per usual.

I actually really like this.
I'm not a fan of Mumford and Sons, but it's gorgeous.
And the scanner made her skin resemble damp wood.
Like when it's been cut and untreated and gets wet.

Nice work! I like the line work here and the colors. It's a cool concept with words in her hair. My only problem with it is the lyrics don't seem to match up with the woman's expression but I suppose since she is not the one speaking the words of sadness she doesn't need to be sad.
As for category I think multimedia would do if that's an option.
