Ok ok I spent a lot of time on this and I'm pleased by how it turned out! The reason it's called Hopes and Dreams is because, yes it is Asriel's theme, but I also feel that Asriel's parents love him deeply and truly. Their love is already evident enough when they adopted Chara, a human child whose race was a cause of their suffering. Yet they welcomed her with open arms seeing her as only an orphaned child in need of love. If they could love her so much I'm sure their love for Asriel, their biological child is immense.

In fact when they died, it drove Asgore into what I believe , a state of madness and anger as he declared all humans their enemy and was willing to kill children of the human race for the monster kind. Yet, I still think that deep down he has a true heart of a father as it was evident he was remorseful about it and thought that it was a huge shame that Frisk was a human. I think Asgore acted the way he did as a King. His duty was to his people and he had to surpass his fatherly instincts for his kingdom. I hate it when people hate on Asgore as he is a charming and beautiful character, offering Frisk a family in the underground after Frisk beats him.

For Toriel, it is evident enough that her love for children burns deeply. She was disgusted by Asgore's decision so much that she left him. She tried to save each fallen child, offering shelter and pie to them. I believe she does this as she regrets Asriel and Chara's deaths every day of her life which made her determined to save all the fallen children.

Asriel obviously wishes he could reunite with his parents at the end of the pacifist route. Getting all sentimental and crying to Frisk, and making them promise not to tell his parents about him as he doesn't want them to worry. I think somewhere he too, like Toriel and Asgore regret the broken family that can never come to be again. I think somewhere deep in his heart, he still had his parents in mind in his fight, and part of his hopes and dreams is the reunion of the Dreemur family.

Overall I love the goat family and I believe every loving parents has hopes and dreams for their children. I love a happy goat family picture and here's one. I might have gone off topic in my little rant up above but I hope you get me :')
