Description
Day 6 of my Sprite Advent calendar. The North Eastern Railway was primarily a freight carrying line serving the industrial Northeast, but it also carries its fair share of passengers as well. T. W Worsdell designed these class O 0-4-4 tanks in 1894 and 110 were built from then to 1901 for use on branch line passenger services and commuter trains. These engines were quite adept at their jobs and as such no major rebuilding was done to the engines by the time of the grouping. The Lner did some modifications to the engines such as adding sloping grates to the class. Throughout the 1930s, the class was gradually replaced by the larger A8s, V1s and V3s as well as railcars. 21 G5s, as the LNER classified them, were fitted with push pull gear from 1937. Most survived into BR days, but the first withdrawal was in 1950, but most went between 1955 and 58 and none were preserved, however, a new build project is underway to build a new member of the class, number 1759, with the project well under construction.

Not only does it look too small, but I think you accidentally made it a JPG instead of a PNG.
