One crisp Sunday morning, Toby was to take the passengers at Ffarquhar to the church near the Vicarage Orchard when he suddenly felt ill. His driver and fireman were sorry to hear about this and tried to quickly think of a plan. "Well, Henrietta is at the Works being checked on" said Toby's fireman. "And Bertie recently had a flat tire last night" added in the driver. "What will he do now?" Then Victoria the coach chimed in on the conversation. "Why not just ask one of the other engines?" "That may be a good idea, Victoria but who?" questioned the driver. "Well, Thomas is coming back from very early shunting at the Transfer Yards" said Victoria. "Maybe he can help us with the predicament." Speak of the devil for the crew and the coach as Thomas steamed in to pick up Annie and Clarabel for his first local train. Toby's crew told Thomas, his driver and firemen about the situation and that they will let the Ffarquhar stationmaster about it, to which they agreed upon. And so with Victoria added in behind Clarabel, Thomas went along his merry way to pick up the passengers.
