Description
Okay, I know you lot must be sick of books by now, but I'm trying to build up a little stock of things to try and sell on Etsy once my paypal account's working <.< (not this particular book though. The bit of scrap car seat leather I used on the spine is too thick and made the inside cover a bit lumpy, and I need a new sketch/doodle/plotbunny book anyway. I can always make another one)I fancied doing something a bit steampunk-ish this time. I'd like to say that no clocks were harmed in the making of this, but I'd be lying. The alarm clock died a warrior's death though, took me all day and two broken screwdrivers to get at those pretty brass gears and STOP THE DAMN TICKING x_x
Don't panic. The clock was a broken rusty old thing from a car boot sale anyway, I didn't destroy a usable one. Besides, the ticking was annoying.
The spine, bookmark etc are real leather, but I don't know a thing about leatherworking so the cover is the usual leather-look card 'aged' with boot polish. It's also my first attempt at embossing a design into card, I think it turned out all right considering. No, the upside down number 5 wasn't intentional <.<
Anyway, yeah. Book. Yay.

i must say you did a great making it look like leather we should call it fo--leather (fox the usual spelling would probably not go over well) YOU USED WHAT ANIMAL TO COVER YOUR BOOK i know i have been there and for fairly smart people they can be pretty ignorant at times

The cover reminds me of the connections puzzels use and that creates curiosity and adds mystery to its contents. The purple is very comfortable to look at and that alone could bring a person back to it. First impressions are very important to books reguardless of the old saying. (can't judge by the cover)
I like this...

I decided to make myself a book
using some journaling I've done lately.
I decided that it would be easier
(number wise - I hate math)
if I did five page packets.
(can't remember what they're called)
I was printing the last page
when I realized that my counting
was off by one page.
It couldn't have been a blank
right in the middle. NO!
I could have doodled on it or whatever.
There's a page missing,
so now I have to deal with THAT.
(3 sides of a page that need filling)
Yeah. Rambling. Sorry.

Sorry for that.
I thought you were
because she makes cool books too
and just happens to be my neice
and understands the rambling.

Gorgious work, and using a clock's gear like that is quite unique. Did something in perticular give you that idea? Anyway, you're thinking of selling some books? Nice although roughly how much would you expect to charge for one?
Wish I had the resources to do something like this ^_^
