Description
Another buttercup photo taken with assistance of my Gorillapod, in the same field as the last, this time from further away. I wanted to get a greater sense of depth and include some of the stuff around the buttercups. All comments/critique appreciated!

As I gaze into this scene, I'm taken back to childhood memories of lying in meadowland amongst the pretty wild flowers. It's a potent scene, nicely balanced in colour and clarity with the bokeh carrying the eye off into the distance in a pleasant way.
My one criticism, if I were to be tied by rules (which often I refuse to obey in any case), would be the lack of some more central interest. I feel as though a bee or a butterfly needs to fly into this scene - or if I were to allow childish fantasy to run free, even a little faery e.deviantart.net/emoticons/g/g⦠" width="17" height="15" alt="

I like the square format used here, but again, it's a shame that the tops of the uppermost flora have had to be compromised.
Overall, a lovely scene, evocatively appealing. Keep at it and crawl some more! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/n/n⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

I agree Anna. It's a lovely scene and the softness draws you in but I also feel that there is a lack of a major focal point. A bit more focus in the foreground might suffice but overall a very nice image.

Haha thanks a lot for the critique. I'm glad you like it, that was the kind of feel I was going for!
I know what you mean about central interest. It should have more especially since it's square format, I remember reading that (eye naturally goes to centre in a square). Wasn't really much I could do about it, I didn't know at the time that I'd decide on square format.

In this instance, not having a central type of focus leaves more to the imagination in any case!
