Funnily enough, the size doesnt seem to make a great deal of difference to the render times...its the resolution and the lighting that affect it more.....Thanx ...glad you liked it.....

I use a mixture really ..if i do use premade i nearly always alter it in some way......a lot depends on render settings also

if you don't mind me asking. what do you use as your render settings?

This is for poser 7...click on manual setting and enter these settings
tick cast shadows
tick raytracing
raytrace bounces 4
irradiance caching 100
pixel samples 4
min shading rate 0.21
max bucket size 64
min displacement bounds 0.000
and on the right we have
render over i nearly always have "black" in here so that the final image has an alpha channel
only "smooth polygons" and "use displacement maps" is ticked
post filter size 1
post filter type box
happy rendering

thanks for the info. that looks almost like the render settings I use as well. next time I play with poser, I'll have to check out your settings, see what kind of results I get. Thanks again. :-D
