I've read through all the 'Devious Thoughts' on this piece and I'm glad I did! I've been planning on incorporating Poser models into some 3D Max scenes, with the emphasis being on lighting, composition, the hair fx and prop modeling with textures done in Max.

My modeling skills of a realistic human aren't were they need to be by a long shot ( unless viewed from far, VERY, far away ), but they will undoubtably improve with continued practice and agree with those have sweated it out, that it's long and rewarding process to model, uv texture, rig a figure that's ready for primetime.

The praise this Daz render is receiving I hope is inspiring people new to the art world to ask those questions of how it's done and that they might one day be able to create something that makes them proud and receive words of encouragement to go further.

WTF I'M I SAYING!!!!!

A scene with nothing but box primitives and a light thrown in would be considered art more than this is and take about the same time to create!!

I'll give you an 'A' for effort, but your going to have to put alot more work into it to make it "yours". One of the definitions of art is that it should be outside the ordinary and this is definately a typical point and click Poser creation. Another definition is that it should be aestheticly pleasing and I'll give you an 'A' for that too, I'll seen too many wide eyed stares with no feeling or thought processes going on, but that credit could also go to the person who created the 'Expression' library.

Otherwise, keep posts like this on the Daz and Poser galleries, where I doubt you'll get the same oooh's and aaah's you did here. You might also realize what it takes to make an accomplised artful composition and how yours fails in comparision.

Forgive me, but there goes my bipolarity again!

Keep it up and hope all this constructive critisism serves you well.

Let this be a warning to all you posers out their, give plenty of credit, where credit is due and please feel free to do at least SOME postwork so that you don't appear entirely lazy!

Hi, I would like to say thanx for your constructive criticism...but...I think you have over-reacted somewhat...what i was trying to say in my comments was that i dont consider HOW a piece was made to be the deciding factor on the finished article, although that is a MAJOR part, I consider its the impact on the emotions of the individual that is viewing the art that determines how highly they rate a piece of art.
By your reckoning that art should be rated on how much time or effort is put into an image and not on the FINAL image...then most photography is rubbish because it takes a split second to produce their ART.
I choose to use poser to create my art and i have lots of friends on DA who do like my art, the fact that it pleases me to produce my work and the fact that they like what i do justifies my images...no matter how much effort i put in to it.
I notice that you have only just joined DA, i would hope that you will post some art of your own and also take a while to browse ALL the art on here to appreciate their efforts however small.
I wish you luck

Very well spoken! Besides any one who has ever worked in 3d knows that an efficient work flow is vital so its not about how much time you put in.
When you create something grand or not its something YOU put together, something YOU put you heart into and thats what makes it beautiful art!
So i guess my basic point your work is still beautiful non the less.

Absolutely! And dont ever worry about people who dont appreciate art.
I tried poser and its not as easy as click click and your done, so yes you do deserve major credit for your work.
Please keep up the great job.

I loaded a demo, it's ok, but not so easy it's all in english, and I don't really know what to do, and I think there's nothing I can change with the hair... but I guess, I'll try some more, and if it works out, well... I think, I've got some money left XD

Yeah Thorne does make lovely girls doesnt he. I think Mulberry is for sale over at daz3d.com

Dont recognize the hair off the bat but its either there or at Renderosity.

This is an aiko3 based character so if you want to see wires, thats where to start looking.

Thanx very much ...glad you liked the pic...........Hair is JAM HAIR by Outoftouch, i,m sorry i dont get the "wires" bit...sorry if i sound naive

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lyrra In reply to switchblade0739 [2007-06-05 19:06:28 +0000 UTC]

by wires they mean "wireframe" so they can see the structure of the model. I think they assumed you made the models. Looking at the wireframe of a 3d model can tell you a lot about it and how it was made
