Now THAT'S impressive! He looks just like a human that had all colours washed off, if I didn't know it was a sculpture I'd swear it was a real person... I especially like how his clothes really look like fabric.

Oh my goodness, this is absolutely fabulous! You do such gorgeous and believable work with how fabric falls over a form. I'm impressed by how natural his hair looks as well. It doesn't look lifeless. I really enjoyed your Tortuga and plague doctor pieces as well!

Thanks!! I appreciate the kind words. I am not really good at hair so kinda surprised you like how I treated his hair. hehe Thanks for liking Tortuga and the Doc mask, as well!

This is one of your fave movies? I had to watch this movie so many times as reference. So I can't say it is my favorite movie at all. I like MacReady getting drunk and being dick, though. Kinda reminds me of myself. How are baby goats?

Aww man that stinks! I love the old movies that use puppets and animatronics instead of CGI. Especially old horror movies like the 80s version of the fly and of course beetlejuice.

I always had a crush on Kurt Russell from this, and also big trouble in little China.

The babies are good! Theyre old enough to where they all have different personalities. One is loud, another skittish and one snuggly.

Yeah I am with you on that.\There are too much CGI used in any movies that I can't really related to those stuff. Speaking of 80's, I did a figure from Re-animator.  I loved Big trouble in Little China. Not a great movie and pretty much killed Kurt Russell's career  as action star along with the movie "Overboard".
Good to know babies are doing great! Love to see them and pet them.

I just love how much time it took to make the puppets for only like maybe an hour of film. Oh yes, some of those foofy lady movies Kurt Russell was in, it makes me sad!

How is your kitty doing?

Well, it is true to all the process of movie making. They all spend over a few years of preparation to even start shooting.  And a few months to a year for post production...For some, the movie they are making is the hope to get somewhere,  a big break but many ended up being a crappy film and bashed all over at internet...
I liked Kurt in Soldier. Have you seen it? It still did not get him back on stardom he once had. Seems like his son is on the same path. But less charisma?

I guess it is like making art, it takes a long time, and people may only glance at it for a second. it stinks how some people poor their life savings into making a indie film, or a film that sounded like a good idea, and it just falls short. I guess its good that some people have youtube!
Ive never watched soldier, i might have to rent it! I love kurt as snake in escape from new york and LA.
I never even knew he had a son that is an actor!

Yeah YouTube helped many aspiring film makers. Can you imagine renting equipments for 8mm or 16mm? And you can't see what you have shot till it comes back from far away lab(only in Hollywood) and re shoot you did not like or screwed up, wait the negatives comes back from the lab again. repeat the process many time and finally edit them with negative cutter and such? And try to show it at school festivals or anything to get some kind of exposure?
I think you will like soldier.  Kurt worked out over a year to bulk up for the role.  His son acted in it as a younger version of him as well.
Yeah Snake is a famous and loved character. I am going to see Escape from NY in big screen this Tuesday. I have only seen it in VHS.  I have been toying the idea of sculpting snake.

Oh man that is a lot of steps to take. there are some movie gems, that are never found

Yeesss, it is definitley worth seeing on big screen!
holy cow.... that sculpt looks amazing!

No doubt. And each process cost bunch(shipping, developing fee) unlike doing everything on a computer. We came long way.

I am seeing the movie tonight. Hope it is still good for me. You know often movies you loved as kids happen to be crappy ones when you re-watch as an adult?

Also I am worried that some folks in da theater keep talking or blind my eyes with their smart phone. Their seem to think they re at home watching TV or something. I have complained a few times to them. And surprisingly they do not want to listen. There are a few times I was about to lose my temper.

Hehe Thanks. Maybe I should post it here.

I hope the movie was good! Now that netflix has a bunch of old movies, like cartoons I always re watch them

I hate when people are on their phone, it makes me so mad! you pay a lot of money to go in and sit down and watch a movie, and you don't watch the screen? I don't get it. My parents do the same thing at home, when we watch a movie at home, they don't watch it, they sit there on their phone and tablets, then get mad when you don't tell them what went on in the movie!

Movie was good but not as good as I thought when I was a kid. My girl thought it was Metal Gear solid the movie. Well the game was heavily influenced by the movie anyway...Speaking of NetFlix, there is a movie called "Art of Steal" came out in 2013 and got Kurt Russell in it Along with Terence Stamp and Matt Dillon. It was pretty good in my opinion. You can stream it now.
Escape from NY was played at high dollar place so people were very courteous to others. So I did not have to lose no temper!
Gah your parents sounds like teenagers. You should tell them total lies when they ask you what is going on in the movie. I don't like people doing that to me. I will miss the stuff while explaining the stuff to them.  That is not how to enjoy movie. Sounds like a chore.

Scolanlc In reply to Switchum [2015-06-07 08:16:50 +0000 UTC]

Awe man, that stinks the movie isn't as good as you remembered it, I do that when I play video games now. I can't even believe some of the things I used to like!
I guess thats the same thing as music too! My gosh, some if the stuff I used to listen to,

That will be the next movie to watch! I need my Kurt Russell fix lol!

Oh its horrible when it comes to my parents and electronics! I reeaalllyyy enjoy watching movies, so its a pain in the butt when you want to discuss a movie with them and it just goes through one ear and right out the other. Or they will forget which movie they watched and watch it again

Switchum In reply to Scolanlc [2015-06-16 14:26:39 +0000 UTC]

Well almost all of movies I liked as a kid are like that. Except Taxi Driver, Terminator. Maybe Remo Williams. Mad Max is still a great movie.
Good stuff are remain timeless. I can still play the first Metal gear Solid. Graphic sucks but still entertains me like it did many years years ago. I can spend hours on Tourist Trophy. I am miffed that there are not any decent motorcycle games out there.

Yeah did you watch it? Enjoyed it?

Went to see Mad Max with 3D and there were old couple behind us. They talked and even forgot to turn off the phone. It rang during the movie and they did not even make attempt to find the phone and turn it off. I do not want to be old folks like that.... Paying over 10 bucks and having crappy people around like that sucks balls.
