Description
I've finally received my 3D-printer! Some first experiments. That's just a test model, the final one will be different. And don't pay attention to the teeth, I'll try to solve this problem )Related content

what kind of printer?????? and it looks like a metal composite??? so amazing-the detail and resolution must be out of this world. are these right off the print bed?

This is photo-polymer. It's actually transparent but painted in black with the spray. Resolution is very good but the printer itself is a non-reliable trash. (( I'm trying to get a refund at the moment.

would you be selling 3d prints? I would love to get some to display only purposes for my dino-obsessed four year old <3

This may seem strange, but I wouldn't mind a small or even even tiny version as a key-ring for my messenger bag.

Interesting~! Just gonna get some sandpaper or something to get rid of where the 'ink' ran. *points to weird lines that seem to stem from the other side of the tongue*

Did you model those in Z-brush? Also what type of 3D printer is it if you don't mind me asking?

Wow nice! Very detailed! Which 3D-printer have you bought, if I can ask? And what about the material (plastic?) used, is it expensive?
π: 0 β©: 1
Swordlord3d In reply to JBaulmont [2016-12-08 19:40:37 +0000 UTC]
That's a Russian custom-made printer. Material: photopolymer. It's much more expensive than plastic.

Those still look absolutely fantastic! No ugly lines/seams that many 3D printed models have. I'd like very much to purchase some completed/full body prints!Β

LeviaDraconia [2016-12-08 15:22:38 +0000 UTC]
Oh wow, that detail.
I always had the impression, that most 3D printers were still very basic and not able to print such fine details. Unless you got some NASA level gear there.
Now I really want one of these models. haha

Question... how do you do that?
Awesome btw

Swordlord3d In reply to nwfonseca [2016-12-08 15:12:28 +0000 UTC]
No, I'm sure! )) We still can't print big models in such quality. And I think 3D or traditional sculpting are just tools, no difference how to make the master-model.
π: 0 β©: 1
nwfonseca In reply to Swordlord3d [2016-12-09 16:02:04 +0000 UTC]
Not sure man, soon the final product will come straight off the printer. Of course larger things will take time but I am sure in a decade it will get there. Traditional sculpting just won't be able to compete.

would love to see a print of your newer rex model. if you ever print out the full body version of your new rex model at that smaller scale, i'd be interested in purchasing a copy

Yes, the new model will be based on the latest Rex.
