Description I've finally received my 3D-printer! Some first experiments. That's just a test model, the final one will be different. And don't pay attention to the teeth, I'll try to solve this problem )

what kind of printer?????? and it looks like a metal composite??? so amazing-the detail and resolution must be out of this world. are these right off the print bed?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Swordlord3d In reply to BadxDog [2017-12-13 19:28:09 +0000 UTC]

This is photo-polymer. It's actually transparent but painted in black with the spray. Resolution is very good but the printer itself is a non-reliable trash. (( I'm trying to get a refund at the moment.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Swordlord3d In reply to JBaulmont [2016-12-08 19:40:37 +0000 UTC]

That's a Russian custom-made printer. Material: photopolymer. It's much more expensive than plastic.

Oh wow, that detail.

I always had the impression, that most 3D printers were still very basic and not able to print such fine details. Unless you got some NASA level gear there.
Now I really want one of these models. haha

traditional sculpting is dead

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Swordlord3d In reply to nwfonseca [2016-12-08 15:12:28 +0000 UTC]

No, I'm sure! )) We still can't print big models in such quality. And I think 3D or traditional sculpting are just tools, no difference how to make the master-model.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

nwfonseca In reply to Swordlord3d [2016-12-09 16:02:04 +0000 UTC]

Not sure man, soon the final product will come straight off the printer. Of course larger things will take time but I am sure in a decade it will get there. Traditional sculpting just won't be able to compete.
