Are you printing this lovely model? How much would it cost and how big is it?
Would it have color?

It's not very possible to single Rex so easily kill a Triceratops; a pair might explain their real hunting behaviore

That’s a pretty odd thing to claim...there’s no reason to believe a single tyrannosaurus wasn’t capable of killing a triceratops by itself with a proper ambush , it has all the tools it needed to do so. The same way leopards kill warthogs , antelope and other ungulates with sharp/dangerous features or How Wolves can and will bring down deer species by themselves regardless of the presence of antlers.

Its is really not if you really look into actual nature and prey-predator relationship, you definetly don't see an individual lion/panther to go out and kill a bison or buffalo on its individual self do you?
The answer is... with packs. Hell, when individual all predators go down to medium sized and/or smaller prey items even mountian lions aren't capable of just run into adult bison and slaughter them(!)

I don’t understand how you conjured in your mind that a mountain lion and a bison is a apt comparison for trying to assess a hunting scenario between tyrannosaurus and triceratops. Such a thing is absolutely nonsensical.

For you, I mean if you cannot conclude the large animals comprahbility its your own conclusion

Because it just doesn’t work as an analogy for the dinosaurs in question

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

Pendragon276 In reply to grisador [2019-04-21 00:06:40 +0000 UTC]

Those aren’t good comparisons at all. For one thing lions/panthers have a far greater size disparity between themselves and buffalo/bison than a Tyrannosaurus does with ceratopsians (even then you actually will see single male lions attacking Cape buffalo) A T.rex and triceratops are roughly the same in weight if not the former being slightly heavier at adulthood. To claim that a triceratops would somehow be too much for a Tyrannosaur yo handle is like saying a leopard can’t kill a stag or antelope on its own nor a tiger being able to overpower a boar.

No problem xD
Oh and... I'm sorry if I bother you but, I'm a student and we study 3D and animation at school (ARIES), I watch you for quite a while now and I wonder: Which program do you use to build these dinosaurs ? Yours are stunning !
I think I've read somewhere that you used ZBrush but I can't remember ^^"
Or maybe it wasn't on your page when I read that haha ^^"'

Anyway, you do a really great job, you are very motivating for young beginners like me xD
I hope I didn't bothered you, and, I'm so sorry for my awfull english ^^"

Swordlord3d In reply to Laollkaz [2015-10-02 18:45:06 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. I use Zbrush and 3ds Max. Sometimes Maya. No big differences between similar programs actually - principles are almost the same. Skills and practice are two main things.Β

You're welcome !
Thank very much for your advice ! Ow yes I'm okay with ZBrush and Max, I'll work hard to master Maya then xD
I need more practice... And I hope we will learn how to rig soon, things could be interesting haha !
I can't wait for it.
For the moment I only can do this:Β sta.sh/21uhd52h9dmf?edit=1

Teachers get mad at me because I only build dinosaurs or dragons in 3D class, but I want to continue on this way xD
