Utterly astounding! There's nothing more remarkable than reconstructions of prehistoric animals, and Titanoboa is an extraordinary species to work with, the idea of a serpent over 50 feet long is both beautiful and terrifying. I do wonder who the unfortunate fellow wrapped in its coils is? I want to say it's an austroraptor but with its predicament, it's kinda' hard to tell. Either way, congratulations on the well-deserved DD!

At first I thought the thing in its grip was an alligator, but now I see it's not.
That's a big snake.

I noticed the game is now available on Steam. Is this character in the game currently, or is it slated for a future update/patch?

Very nice great work!, altough too many people draw it with non avian dinosaurs.

True, but this is for a game that makes no attempt at insinuating that any of its fauna were actually contemporary with each other, so it seems fine to me.

Probably a velociraptor judging by the plumage at the end of it's tail

This is going to be so awesome! But I do have one question; is this cave near the water? Because of Titanoboas size, it probably would have lived like an anaconda. I am basing this a lot on its size, and if you compare it with some other giant reptiles, one prehistoric example being Sarcosuchus, my fave crocodilid, it probably would have spent most of its time in the water. Just curious.

For some reason, I feel as if this scene is actually set underwater in the caves. Is it really set there, or am I just imagining things?

I suppose all reptiles were bigger in the mezizoic era.

in that case before or after the ice age?

60 million years ago, that is 5 million years after the Mesozoic era ended. Also, titanoboa is a squamate, while dinosaurs and crocodiles were achrosaurs. This is relevant because it means that you really cannot generalize and say that "reptiles were bigger", since, with the exception of the ocean, squamates remained fairly small.

It lived in between the end of the dinosaurs and the ice age, when mammals were beginning to evolve into more modern forms, the snake lived around 60 million years ago.

It got friggin' hot during the Cretaceous period. Like really hot and really muggy. So, I guess it makes sense.

Holy crap, this is the low-poly model??? I don't even see many areas where polygons are evident! May I ask how many polygons are in this? I myself am only just a fledgling modeler, and am completely gobsmacked by the quality of this model. Also, did you use an alpha for the scales, or were they hand-sculpted, or made via a Noise Maker?
Absolutely beautiful, beautiful work - I have so much to learn in my own modeling forays! Thank you for sharing your work.

Hi!
This guy has 8 736 tris. This is just lucky camera angle. ) You can see some polygons in this picture: swordlord3d.deviantart.com/art…
For the scales I use alphas and hand-sculpting (50/50).

I don't mean to be a nit picker, but when constrictors kill prey they grab then wrap and down let go.
