Here's another WIP draft of the G8F Body harness that I'm currently working on. I modified it from the original draft and threw in an additional thigh strap while cleaning out the ones over the torso.

As for the crafting, what I did first was I created a continuous mesh for the straps, tested and finalized the UVs to use in Daz Studio. And once that was set, then added some markers (over the screenshots) to zero down on where I will set up the grafts for the buckles, junction rings and the leather loops. The plan was to create a dForce accepting base mesh and then bolt the additional metallic stuff onto it as grafts, so that the harness would be able to stretch / bend / contort a good deal like fabric after simulation while retaining the solid portions of the outfit without need some complicated node-targets.

That was the old plan.

It would have worked alright...but somewhere in middle of the testing process I felt that I should go ahead and create something more stable and less nuanced during usage, for all the artists who will end up using this harness. So I discarded the entire model (fortunately not a lot of time was sunk into this build) and replaced the simple continuous mesh based core with something...more fancy.

Some pictures of that, the current working build, will be put up soon. I have just finished painting a preliminary leather + steel texture base on the updated model and am working on sorting out the G8F JCMs (all which ended up erroring the first time around due to a user mistake...). And controller creation is taking a significantly longer amount of time due to the model's complexity.
