Another entry into my growing 'Project A-Ko in the DC Universe' concept.

This time revolving around Beniko 'Biko' Cale.

In the source material anime that alot of these characters were pulled from, the original B-ko was constantly followed a four other girls that act like lackeys, and in the case of one... the muscle. I decided to bring that concept into my little 'Project'. Decided to start with the one that I had the most concrete vision of. Maria.

Based on the much more comedic 'Mari ', a massive and massively masculine female parody of the iconic anime protagonist 'Kenshiro' (of 'Fist of the North Star' fame). Maria is a lot less goofy, serving more as a bodyguard (hired by Biko's mother, Veronica Cale) to Biko than anything.

Of the four ladies that (as directed by Ms. Cale, their employer) follow Biko around (she's personally taken to mockingly dubbing them the 'Debbies') Maria is on much better terms with Beniko, as unlike the other three, she isn't trying to be anything more than a bodyguard and caretaker to the young lady. At that, she's proven herself quite capable. Tall and muscular, she comes from a background of fighting and delinquency in her younger days that she's largely put behind herself. But said life has given her quite the 'training' in battle and hand-to-hand combat.

Due to her strength and fighting skills, some who have seen her work wonder if she's possibly got Themysciran Amazons in her family's history. Maria herself doesn't really know, or care to be honest. She's got a job, and she's gonna do that job to her utmost ability... come hell or high water.

Envisioned this character as a mixture (appearance-wise) of Noi from 'Dorohedoro' and the animated version of Lex Luthor's own bodyguard, Mercy Graves. Also threw in some features of Michiko Malandro from 'Michiko & Hatchin'.

And the amazingly talented was able to cobble this amazing piece from the description. I frikkin' love his work!
