-In the midst of their battle, Godzilla, Kiryu, and the Mothra larvae get an unexpected surprise when a three-headed terror known as King Ghidorah suddenly appears in the heart of Tokyo, their fighting seemingly drew it's attention to them. This creature is on nobody's side but it's own, and it's seemingly intent on the destruction of all life, and it seems to plan to start this rampage by killing any possible threats. Now the three have no choice but to put aside their differences to fight this new menace.At one point in time had this wild hair to write a series of 'What If?' scenarios for various Godzilla movies/stories. Some of you might even remember a few previous such examples .
This example is basically a re-imagining of King Ghidorah's 'Showa' era debut, set in the "Godzilla-Kiryu" world. Ghidorah's modeled after his 'Mothra Rebirth' incarnation, but based firmly on the Showa version.
Cobbled this pic together in photoshop using various screenshots from 'Tokyo S.O.S.' and a model of Ghidorah.

Funny, I had this same idea. And I'll explain how:
If GMK went with the original draft, by having Anguirus and Varan appear, then King Ghidorah wouldn't appear in the Millennium series. But, Toho would fix that little problem by having appear in Godzilla: Tokyo SOS. So that way, King Ghidorah would always be part of Toho's Big Five.
