Description Have one for my hero character, why not my villain?

Four of these characters were the initial inspiration, while I've since co-opted the other two since Eviscerare's creation.

Starting at the Upper Left:
Nemesis (Icon Comics) >> Bane (Dark Knight Rises) >> Joker (The Dark Knight) >> Professor Moriarty (Ritchie version, though any version would do) >> Taskmaster (Marvel Comics) >> Fantomas

When I started the character my initial inspirations were Moriarty, DKR Bane, TDK Joker and Fantomas. Have since added Taskmaster and Mark Millar's Nemesis as well.

I'm sure alot of these inspirations/influences make sense for a dastardly sociopath like Eviscerare.

An interesting cast of characters. Although, I don't quite know a few of them.

Joker was obvious but Taskmaster was a bit of a surprise.

mainly the mask, and how some versions of him are master disguise artists.

All this makes sense to me, although I hope it's TDKR Bane before it's revealed that he's actually basically just a lackey for Talia al Ghul.

yes it's pre-Talia reveal BaneΒ  Β

Why filmmakers apparently can't portray Bane as the serious stand-alone threat he's been in the comics is beyond me.

I'm pretty sure that bane does play a similar role in the comic for the al Ghuls

I could be wrong, but I thought the only major interaction he'd had with the al Ghuls in the comics was impressing Ra's enough to be temporarily appointed his heir.

i think in this case it was meant to be a shocking twist.

I guess. It probably also doesn't help that I'm just not a fan of the al Ghuls.

the only al Ghul i have a hard time with is Damien. He seems to have developed a bit more since his introduction, but he was such a cocky obnoxious little shit that I'm honestly surprised Batman put up with it, even more surprised that Dick, Jason and Tim let it slide.

Yeah, I've never really liked him either. But Ra's and the League of Assassins represent the arrogant my-word-is-law/I-don't-like-something-therefore-it-must be-destroyed attitude I really hate in villains and and I've just never liked Talia. I know there's supposed to be a whole divided-loyalties-between-her-father-and-her-love thing, but it's always pretty obvious who she'll side with in the end, even if it's just to ensure that Batman never gets a moment's happiness, which just stops it (and her) being at all interesting for me.

The Ra's al ghul from the Batman Animated Series was cool, though his destiny (as revealed in Batman Beyond) was less than stellar for him... and Talia.

Yeah, well, the DCAU generally did a good job with its villains. And yeah, the possessing Talia thing was pretty squick, even though it allowed a great taunt from Bruce.

Actually, just after posting that last response I found a paragraph that pretty much sums up what I dislike about Ra's on on his TvTropes page under "The Paranoiac". tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php…

i think that pretty much encapsulates Ra's al Ghul rather well.

Yeah. But anyway, I've already bitched far too much on this one submission, so I'll simply add that I always enjoy seeing these inspiration pieces, and this one and Doc's have both been very enlightening.

I dunno... from what I hear, Mark Millar's villains tend to go that extra mile in just being vile for the sake of it, nemesis in particular I've heard has done some reallyΒ fucked-up things, old Evis has standards after all.

yeah... but he's still an influence to the level of carnage he can create... and his near-ridiculous cunning.
