Been trying to get back into Dragon Ball spriting. This was the result of a random 'wild hair' bout of inspiration.

Introduced in the 'Super Dragon Ball Heroes' promotional anime (for a collectible card game in Japan), this big bastard is supposedly an 'Ancient Saiyan' plucked from the chains of time & space by the mischievous demonic youth 'Fu' for his plan to bring together a whole load of powerful individuals on a literal 'prison planet' to (presumably) fight for his amusement. As one can imagine, this blows up in his face once the Time Patrol gets involved and this mysterious fiend is one of those who is set loose in the interim.

Cunber is described as 'the Evil Saiyan' by others, and his abilities/nature seem to reflect that moniker. Just being exposed to his aura can cause those of his race to go violently berserk if they aren't careful, as Goku finds out... much to the other heroes chagrin.

And like Superman foe Doomsday, even being put into restraints doesn't seem to slow this bastard down, if anything he seems to keep them on for sheer sport. Cunber only frees himself when he actually needs to start taking things seriously. Even then, he seems to want to keep the 'Hannibal Lecter' mask on, for reasons that have yet to be explained. He does a pretty good job fighting two sets of Goku and Vegeta (Super versions AND versions based on GT era), in their myriad and powerful forms. Not only that, he seems capable of accessing Super Saiyan forms as well, and seems to be familiar with the 'Super Saiyan God' form.

It isn't until 'Super Canon' Goku taps into 'Ultra Instinct' that Cunber is even remotely put on the ropes. His unconscious body is then confiscated by a cabal of villains (having, apparently, been brought together on said 'Prison Planet') and brought into their plans for what is now dubbed the 'Universal Conflict' arc.

There's just something I like about Cunber. Maybe because he's like O.G. Broly, only with a far more mysterious backstory and motivation. As I said in my most recent journal entry, if there's a counterpoint/dark mirror to the concept of the 'Super Saiyan God', then I'm willing to reckon that whatever powers Cunber's wrath is probably it.

Made this sprite using 'Extreme Butoden' sprites. Used Broly's body, a mixture of Raditz's face (and hair) with that of the Legendary Super Saiyan, the hair from Goku's SSJ3 form, pants and boots from Dabura, belt from 'Base' Goku, and the tail from SSJ4 Goku. Everything else is additions and tweaks I put in.
