A crazy idea, well... one of my crazier ideas... for a hypothetical MUGEN crossover project bringing together three different generations of some of the more violent fighting games from the 90's. Basically the ones that allowed for Fatality-like finishers, and were the (IMHO) the best at doing them.

Mortal Kombat x Killer Instinct x Eternal Champions

For me it'd probably be, story-wise, something like the much-maligned 'Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe' in that strange events are not only bringing these three separate worlds together... but trying to merge them. So you'd have various stages where bits and pieces were either suddenly THERE (like above, mixing the old Courtyard stage with the 'Stone Monkey Temple' from Eternal Champions) or, like MKvDC, separated by thin 'dimensional barriers'.

And, if it were possible, there'd be two different stage fatalities, each dependent upon which of the two 'Stages' it takes place in. So, for example, the above stage would have one (MK) where the masked guards would chop the opponent up for going out of bounds, while the other (EC) would have the stone dragons in the middle ground come to life and immolate the opponent with fire.

The really cool take on the classic MK stage comes from the stellar 'Blood & Thunder' mugen fangame that takes a pixelated approach to the classic MK games. DEMO (in the information section)
