What a fabulous first attempt!!! I played with that script myself this morning and didn't find anything even close. Great job!!! I can tell that's going to be a fun script, I just need to work with it a LOT more.

I played with it for awhile today and other than this, I didn't really come up with much. I'm really starting to enjoy this contest though! I am so glad we decided to extend it, although I wish we'd recieved more than just 5 submissions.
Hey, programming is hard for some people, and a lot of our members are new to the program itself. I hope in the future to do more of these contests!
Thanks for your comment!

It's fun, but it can be frustrating too! My husband gave it a go last night. I tried once or twice, but nothing I write ever comes out as nice as the scripts Muetze writes.

this is awesome! how do you do this, like what do 'muetze scripts' look like?
👍: 0 ⏩: 2
Sya In reply to resqben [2004-07-16 14:05:46 +0000 UTC]
Well, ~muetze wrote the script for Apophysis that creates an entire batch of fractal flames that follow a set of orders. The script is actually just a text file that the program uses to perform operations. I just tell the program where to look for the script file and then I tell the program to run the script.
Of course, some of the flames in the batch turn out to be duds, and some need a little tweaking. Others still turn out quite lovely on their own.
Thanks for your comment!
