With a heavy sigh he collapsed onto his bed, sending several crumpled pieces of paper scattering across the room. Each one covered in hastily scrawled words that were scribbled out in frustration.

Ding!

Rather than paying attention to the noise, he continued to stare blankly at his ceiling silently willing the words to come to him. Every scrap of paper in his room was marked up in some way, whether failed words or doodles. A blank word document even taunted him on his computer screen. As the minutes ticked by he could feel a headache coming on.

If it wasn’t the frustration, it would have to be the blaring repetitive noise coming from his Pesterchum. Several more notifications went off; each time his body gave a nearly unnoticeable twitch of annoyance.

It was silent for a minute but he couldn’t relax, instead he slowly sat up as he waited. An aggravated welling up as he sat anticipating yet another message. Gradually the tension faded and he fell back inside his mind, trying to phrase words he couldn’t quite place. Mentally scrapping every idea that came to mind, his gaze started to wander throughout his room once more before settling on the frame beside his desk.

A small smile grew as he inspected the photo, the memory instantly filling him with ease. Instantly it hit him. He knew exactly what he wanted to write. Unhindered happiness built up. Now if only he had signed out earlier. He wouldn’t have to deal with that distracting noise.

Ding!

He just needed to find a clean sheet of paper and find out where he threw his pencil and-

Or there was always that Word document-

Quickly he darted into his chair, placing his fingertips on the keys. Hours of nothing were worth it. He knew just the right words.

Ding!

He ran a hand through his hair in exasperation, one full hour of nonstop messages. Whoever they were, he had to hand it to them they were persistent. Against his better judgment he pulled up his Pesterchum intent on merely logging out in order to focus. The username instantly made him pause momentarily. (Name) had sent a grand total of 57 messages.

He hesitated before slowly pressing her username.

(uN) : i can wait you out dave

(uN) : youll answer eventually or maybe this will just accumulate into a monstrosity of messages

(uN) : oh god im really needy arent i

(uN) : i spent like half an hour trying to get a hold of you rather than just pestering someone else

(uN) : i actually have no reasons to defend this

(uN) : im not even sorry anymore

(uN) : im too far gone I cant stop now

(uN) : the links are starting up again be prepared for mental scarring

He stared at the screen, stuck somewhere between amusement and disbelief. He laughed quietly as he shook my head at (Name)’s antics and merely minimized the chat. The consistent noise didn’t seem to bother him as much anymore. He placed his hands in their proper place once he dragged up Word once again.
A blank look overcame him when he realized he couldn’t remember what he had wanted to write.
