Hang on, lemmie upload files to show you...

Ok, I originally sketched it in blue pencil [link] , then I inked over it with my little paintbrush then scanned it in at high res and used Photoshop to remove the blue linework [link] , then I added the colour and shading in Photoshop ^_^

So I have the linework of the picture in my sketchbook. It's A4

Wow!! Im not that advanced. Better be! I just scan Some outlines and color them. ehe. Well, i gotta test the advanced technique sometime. I know that is how the most do it. Mab does it the same way, right? But sometimes, you do the outlines in colour... Do you color the outlines in photoshop?

lol well 'scan some outlines and colour them' is pretty much exactly what I'm doing. As far as I know, Miss Mab uses a similar method, although you'll probably need to ask Miss Mab herself about that, as I seem to have been expelled from her circle of friends

And yup, coloured lines are done in Photoshop. I do them last, actually, so I can match/compare them to the shades I use on the picture itself. By the way, I'm happy to tell you anything I can about Photoshop and my art methods, so feel free to note me or track me down on an IM if you'd like me to go into more detail

Thanks ^_^ We don't get snow here, so I've only had the chance to throw real life snowballs once, but that seemed pretty fun to me

As for the composition, I have no doubts you're right, but I pretty much filled the paper with this picture, there wasn't any more space that way for the background to continue ^_~ I could have penned it in with Photoshop, but... um.. I didn't.

^_^ Well normally birds aren't my thing either, except in both the presketch and the sketch, the first lines I drew, the shape of the brow and beak seemed to flow really easily, so it all kind of ran on from there

Nah it's not just you The feet were probably the most disappointing part of the picture, the original design was strong, they had this nice lumpy claw look to them, but on my picture they kind of lost that and ended up being out of style with the rest of it

And thanks ^_^ I was pretty happy with the snow
