Yet another of those strange, strange meals. You better get used to them.

Now I want to do a little explanation about the font issue here. As we know, the boys were speaking wingdings with something of an accent/manner of speech of their born-in fonts and they didn't know how to pronounce Latin letters. My first though upon this was "How often could something like this happen? For a skeleton with Latin-alphabet-based font, to grow up in an environment where everybody speaks only one font and it's a cypher? Probably not often at all! On the surface, even if a skeleton was born in a cypher-speaking family being a non-cypher one, they would probably be taught Latin letters and have some friends that would speak Latin fonts." This led me up to a conclusion: what if Gaster could decipher their born-in fonts, but he never thought of the fact that born-in doesn't mean they will be magically able to know how to read and pronounce it without anybody ever showing them? Especially, that I suppose thinking about this would mean thinking about them, potentially needing to communicate with the outer world, generally thinking about skeletons and families and bringing up this topics he probably didn't want to pay any mind if he didn't have to. Even if he knew that skeletons speaking non-cypher fonts were able to learn cypher ones, he probably never stumbled upon a situation where somebody was never taught speaking their in-born font in the first place.

So, my headcanon while coming up with the story was, that he didn't really ever think of the matter long enough to get that without contact and possibility to learn them, they won't be able to speak their in-born fonts. Adding up the general mess in his life lately, poor sleeping schedule and being constantly stressed about the talk with Asgore, that, sooner or later, will have to take place, his first thought was that due to their unique nature, their fonts are possibly just as unique.

Supposingly he will find out that they would be able to learn their own fonts, if there would be somebody capable of teaching them right pronunciation (that he isn't), I wonder what will he do with that knowledge.
