STARCALL: What is it?
Starcall is my ongoing request project. I wanted it to be more than just open requests. I wanted it to have a name, to feel real, to feel tangible. I want it to be a project that I can extend to the rest of the artists here in hopes to bring more attention and life to our generous community. With the unbelievable success of Junequest, and the loads of amazing creative and inspiring requests that I received, I'm on a mission to just keep on giving.
There are tons and tons of people out there who would love artwork, but simply can't afford it. This is not to say that artists should not be paid for their work, or that anyone has permission to demand artwork for themselves without giving anything in return. However, I encourage the act of giving and spreading endless kindness.

It was awesome watching this come together. Seeing the steps as a tutorial or the process as a YouTube video is good, but getting to see some of this in real-time I get to appreciate the art a lot more I think.

Yeah definitely! Was it a lot of effort to set up your live streams?

It wasn't too bad, no! I spent about a day googling, learning the ins and outs of what to do to start. You can have a basic set up and still be successful, but it's good to have a mic and a webcam to start!
From there I did some tweaking along the way, but it was more visual stuff for my overlay and stuff like that. I'd say it's pretty easy for anyone to learn how to do!

I'm a bit more shy and awkward in real life than I appear here, so talking to a screen would potentially be a disaster for me haha. Then again, it might be entertaining for an audience
Do novice artists do much streaming? I mean, people come to your streams to learn about your drawing process (and also because we seem to have heaps of fun socialising on the chat with you and among ourselves). But a novice would probably use it differently, asking the audience questions as much as vice-versa.

Hmm, that's a good question. I think that it can be a good place to communicate with your viewers and get some feedback. I know I would personally love to attend, and would do my best to keep your chat active and answer your questions. It could be fun!
The biggest part is to just have a good time. Those who stop by are going to want to hang out beyond just watching art - so, if you're entertaining, I think you'll do well regardless!
