The Burrowing Troll is one of the only remaining Troll species in the world, as most above-ground dwelling species were wiped out by dragons or by man. Burrowers are massive beasts, standing at around 20 feet in height, and armed with claws that can reach up to five feet in length. These hulking beasts are constantly digging out new tunnels to either expand their homes or to find food. This constant digging can often be heard above ground, and sometimes may even cause sinkholes. Luckily, Burrowers usually keep to themselves, staying underground eating rocks, gemstones and wyrms too slow to escape their reach. On the rare occasion a Burrower does find itself above ground, things can get messy. Burrowers are extremely aggressive, with just about any external stimuli being perceived as a threat. This of course causes it to rampage, and everyone knows a rampaging Troll is bad news.

Burrowers are also extremely protective of their small, grub-like infants, so woe to anyone who threatens a Burrower's child. It is also interesting to note that, unlike most Trolls, Burrowers don't fear most dragons, and have been known to attack, and often kill, those they encounter.
