The Llothilaq are a dangerous hunter from the Underdark. Asleep during the day, these ferocious terrors rise up at night, and use their own specialized tunnels to reach the surface. Unfortunately for them, as well as those they are hunting, these tunnels often lead straight into the sewers, earning these creatures the nickname of "Sewer Beast".

The Llothilaq run through the sewers at quick speeds, using their pack tactics to target as many entrances to the world above as possible, before they surface all over the area. Those lucky enough to surface inside a settlement, are rewarded with a meal, usually sleeping humans. And they will remember the route they took perfectly, in every detail, and they will strike again and again.

But some Llothilaq are not lucky enough to gain access to the "above world", and instead resort to hunting in the Underdark. These beasts are usually covered in scars, more pale, and can reach twice the size of an average Llothilaq due to their diet. And when these ones do find their way to the world above, things become messy.

Various Facts:

- Llothilaq are quick runners, capable of reaching speeds of up to 18 miles an hour.
- Llothilaq's mouths are surrounded by flexible tentacles. These tentacles are strong enough to hold a full grown man in place, and are lined with barbed hooks to keep prey in place so the Llothilaq can shoot their mouths out at their prey. This is accomplished due to the Llothilaq's unique muscular structure. The mouth is actually mostly muscle, and can shoot out up to 2 feet, capable of tearing flesh straight from prey.
- Llothilaq have powerful limbs and can bend steel with little effort.
- Llothilaq have a highly developed sense of smell, which is one reason it's so unfortunate for them to have to run through a dirty sewer. They are capable of tracking targets for up to a mile.
- Llothilaq have spotted patterns all over their body. These light grey splotches are believed to be able to illuminate the dark, but this is unconfirmed.
- Llothilaq don't specifically target humanoids, but seem to run into them more than anything else. It is believed that if a few sewer lines had been moved on a slightly different path, humanity may have never encountered these creatures firsthand.
- Their name comes from the gargled roars they let out whe attacking prey.
- It is believed that the Llothilaq are blind.
- Llothilaq can live for up to 90 years.
- Llothilaq can reach over 9 feet in length, 5 feet in height and can weigh up to 369 lbs. Underdark specimens are known to be double this size.
