"Horror heap from the nuclear trash!"

Our next creature is Octaman from the movie Octaman, released in 1971! This was another pretty easy one, though there was a bit of back and forth on exactly how I'd mix the two together. In the end, I went with a pretty classic mixture, while trying to add my own elements to make it stand out a little from the pack. It's funny though, that even though I never even considered them during my process, this whole concept just feels so much like an Ultraman or even a Power Rangers monster.

So, for my redesign, I tried to mash man and octopus together in a way that makes the most sense/appeals the most to me. So obviously, the head was just an octopus' head with the beak placed at the front, hidden under the folds of the skin. From there, the main consideration was how to keep the eight limbs, while still keeping the general shape of a man. My compromise was four arms and two tentacles fused for each of the legs. I just wanted him to feel like what would happen if an octopus evolved to mimic a human shape. It's all relatively simple stuff, but the execution, the concept and the colors all came together in a way that makes this one of my favorites thus far! Can fit into TriZen with some plot reworking as either an evolution of octopuses or a Deep One species.
