"We should help her!"I figured that since I redrew the Nuckelavee, it was only fair that I redrew the Yara-Ma-Yha-Who and the Saze-Oni as well. While I did really like the original design of the Sazae-Oni, I thought it'd be fun to take it down a different route. Thus, I decided to turn it into more of a giant sea-snail, because hey, that's pretty cool!

i love the more prehistoric look of Sazae-Oni, i can see a bit of the radula in the center of the two mouth tentacles.
i guess the "human lure" technique is one thing the monster learned recently after humanity began to spread across the planet.

It was definitely a sort of last-minute bit of inspiration to go with a more sea slug looking design, but one I felt was worth it. Yep, he's got some nasty "teeth"!
It's possible they were always like that. There may be some supernatural origins to them.
