"Nasty little creatures, aren't they?"

The next creature on the docket are the Silicates from the movie Island of Terror, released in 1966! Now initially, I wasn't sure how I was going to approach this one, as the task of redesigning was essentially a carpet blob seemed difficult. Plus there was the idea of designing silicon-based life, so how do I approach that? Then I remembered I had already redesigned a silicon-based lifeform, and if you've been following along then you can already see above what happened! Yes, that's right, I made Island of Terror into a Monolith Monsters sequel! These are my creatures, and not official redesigns, so no one can stop me hahaha (hence why I've been putting some of them into my own universes~!)

So with that concept in my brain, I decided to expand from there and look up some alien references. What I finished with is what you see above, these weird frog-like worm creatures covered in smaller Monolith crystals. My concept here is that these Silicates are small, microscopic creatures that dwelled within the crystals and were experimented on in an effort to cure cancer. As is often the case, something went wrong and they grew larger and began feeding and spreading. They of course still feed by consuming the bones of whatever they attack, using their tongue that extrudes from their true head. I then covered them in the bumpy texture from the original, and even kept the rug fringe as small tentacles running along the abdomen. Finally, I of course added the crystals which, in a twist of fate, are dwelling within the Silicates. All of this makes them fit into TriZen with little change.
