Up next is 1961's The Creature From the Haunted Sea, another infamous critter! We finally come to our final "fishman" of the list and again, I wasn't initially sure how I could avoid making this one humanoid. But as always, looking for inspiration gave me the perfect body plan when I found a shark creature with the "wings" of a manta ray. But of course, the original wasn't remotely shark-like, and I definitely wanted to keep those unforgettable ping pong ball eyes, so to the deep dark abyss I went. Once I found the perfect fish, it was time to put all the elements together into an unsettling design!

So again, since I was working with a fish creature, I just said screw it and decided it would be another abyssal Deep One! Since that was my decision, I used the Destination Inner Space redesign as heavy inspiration, taking what I learned from that design and reapplying it here. Thus I added in the pale skin, the purple elements and the see-through skin to keep the designs consistent. Then it was simply a matter of combining the shark-like body, the manta wings and various deep sea fish into a cohesive whole. The final result is definitely haunting!
