Last time, it was Smellerbee - this time, Sokka's on the receiving end of my mid-project angst.

I know death is a natural (but sad)part of life, but why did you make this guy so soon. Wait until he helps Aang defeat the Fire Lord, hone his warrior skills, and he might even get married and have kids.

oh, no, nothing like that! I just had this image... if suki was killed in the war, and the fire nation returned to the south pole to finish the job they started, that sokka would lead the fight there, and...
like i said, i was feeling angsty that day.

This is beautiful and wonderful, and I've had it faved...but every time I see it, I cringe, because of the idea of suicide. So, as tragically beautiful as it is, the idea of suicide itself just makes it hard for me to look at this. So even though I'm removing the favorite, know that I admire it and do think it is beautiful!

not suicide, but a fight to the death, which sokka lost. his last thought was suki. i never intended this to be thought of as sucide!

Oh, really? That makes me feel so much better. I suppose it was the way he was bleeding, and also holding a fan (like Suki's) with blood on the blades. I had taken from it that he used the fan because of his devotion to Suki and desire to be with her - but I feel so much better with the true meaning. Thank you for that clarification!

Aww, so sad! I love it, though ^^ Very beautiful shading, especially on the folds in the cloth. His hair is very well done too, and I love the emotion of the peice. Very well done!

thanks! ya know, if sokka really did get killed, I think it would have more impact than even aang - aang's sorta the messiah-hero type, and no one expects the comic relief to die.

I like the way you used it. Showing just enough of it so it's not overly dramatic or gory. I also love the way you drew his hand and the folds in his clothes.
