Description 10 x 30 inches per panel
Oil on canvas
Spring 2005

Another still life painting of fabric, this time zooming in on the still life and cropping it, seeing how the shapes rhyme with each other. This was my first real fabric painting and slaved over it for a few months, originally it was a triptych with "Magdalene" as the center panel, but I think that it works much better this way. The two main forms in these two panels remind me of robed women, like nun's habits, hence the title.

That is fantastic, I never find still life to be super interesting- or at least most of the pieces I see. But this is so different I am interested in this and part of the way you've cropped it made it really dynamic!

This is heavenly! I love the tones and the drape-y fabric feel!!

This an interesting compositional idea. You have a great deal of technical skill, but I think I am more impressed with your willingness to take this type of a risk with the composition.

Very nice! I love the flow of lines between the two images.
