Description This is a Paper Mache mask covered in Birch ( I think) bark and glued to a frame. I didn't use clay to mold the face, I just shaped tinfoil. It turned out alright, but it has a long, long way to go before it is nearly as impressive as some of the work I have seen here. I might add, it is badly photographed.

It was one of my first Mache pieces, so I am sure I could do it better now, but thank you none the less.

It remembers me the Mortal Kombat II trees. I think it's a good photo.

I'm amazed what you can do with paper machΓ©. Do you make it yourself?
We're working on a paper machΓ© pumpkin but the paint doesn't dry as fast as we hoped.

[link] Here is a link to Youtube that shows a Paper Mache project. There are other tutorials in the related video section. Google Stolloween as well. The guy there makes paper mache pumpkins and has a step by step tutorial. I only use glue, paper scraps, a hot glue gun, and tinfoil and cardboard for shaping. The hot glue gun I use to attach paper to the tinfoil. If you try to make a glue covered scrap of paper stick to tinfoil it won't adhere by itself. Thanks for your compliments, but paper mache can be really fun and easy if you are patient. By the way, I use acrylic paint.

Thanks for the link!
We've put paper scraps on a balloon. When I was little we used wallpaper glue for it. I didn't have any of it left so we used glue for wood which worked fine, but took a hell of a time to dry. We now painted the thing. I wanted to use acrylic paint before, but then I found another decoration paint which had a better tone. Once it's dry it will be very hard and resistent to water. It takes 24 hours to dry. We'll have to wait again, until we can paint face etc. It won't be too scary.

Thank you back, it was very simple to make. I just made a paper mache mask and (after painting it brown) I just glued bark to it. I'm sure it'd be easy for you.

yes, but it's the idea that is so unique...and of course, excellent execution...you've got some really nice work in your gallery!
