Description Set up with Cinema 4D and rendered with iray (Mental Ray for C4D) using two lights and an HDR image.

It only took two minutes to render on my laptop
M4D is definitely on my wishlist ^^

*sighs* I really wanted to do a quick animation of the raptor-thing walking past the camera... But good grief animation and walkcycles do NOT like me at all
I gave up very quickly.

Currently no I do not. I used it a little back when it was version 2.0, but I haven't used it since. I moved on to Carrara and used that exclusively until I purchased Cinema 4D. I have yet to ever use either Daz Studio or Carrara.

Why do you ask?

Any particular reason you want his belly that big? Seems rather uncomfortable

Well anyway, I'm not too fond of creatures with large and rounded stomachs like that, but I'll keep it in mind since it's pretty easy to do.

I'll let you know if/when I do it ^^

the raptor looks cute
I would really like to see a walkcycle

Yeah he is a cute lil bugger. Not as cute as the Warcraft raptors, but cute. The WC raptors have better hands for sure, but this guy's still cute. I sort of wondered why the WC raptors omitted the pelvic bone in their models, but I think it was for technical reasons rather than an artistic choice.

I think a decent walkcycle would be a long-term goal for me

(Technical stuff follows. Read only if curious )
For starters he's not properly rigged yet - the joints are in place but not fully weighted yet, so some points are affected by some joints when they shouldn't be, or don't move with their associated joint, etc. Some joints aren't weighted at all - like the "kill claw" joint (his inner toes) and his jaw, which when opened the polygons stick to his upper jaw like they're glued or sewn shut but stretch with his jaw anyway.

I'm doing a random animation of it just moving from one side to the other but without the joints actually moving just to get a guess at what it might look like animated.

Finally, the actual animation bit. I don't know much about animation in its own right, or even the basics.

They Warcraft raptors are my favorite, actually I don't like the featherd much..

sounds very difficult..
They made this new wyvern mount ([link] ) for the last patch and when I finally got it I found out that (beside the fact that he is ugly :>) the animation wasn't properly and when he tried to open his mount his lower yaw was sticked to his upper yaw.. it looked really stupid but they fixed that now^^ (still not working in the model viewer^^) but while flying his legs look broken.. I really like the old model better^^

What do you think is easyer, fixing everything with your raptor to make a runcycle or simply draw every step of the cycle?

Personally I don't mind the feathered ones or the scaled ones, as long as the general body design is accurate enough. I don't like raptors with the long, thin, bony "zombie like" fingers that this one sports, or raptors that *claim* to be velociraptors but are drawn with a Trex skull.
Generic or fantasy raptors it doesn't bother me as much though

I mostly prefer the feathered variety when going for realism, but am perfectly happy with the scalies too ^^
Ahh also I've found plenty of terrible renditions of feathered raptors that make them look so absurdly ugly. If you'd like an example of such unbelievably cute yet fierce (And remarkably accurate) raptors, Ukabor does plenty, as does Ixerin (Who's main character is an Utahraptor).

[link] (A little more stylized but still cute)

She has a real talent for making things fairly realistic while also making them seem very human like or be stylized. Perhaps my absolute favorite is her "Crow Mage" [link]
That is all sorts of awesome <3

It's more tedious than difficult in my opinion. From my experiences I'd fix one thing then in the process break another
Getting advanced stuff in like "Inverse Kinematics" (Lift the foot up and the thighs and leg bends too), "Muscles" (Move the body and stuff stretches and squeezes), and "Cloth Dynamics" (For dragon's wings) is a lot harder.

Well if I understand the question right, it'd end up being both. I have to go in and position the raptor and his/her limbs at different intervals on the timeline, and the program just interpolates the positions in between these. Getting it to look smooth and not too jerky or fast/slow is another problem.
