I am a big Octavia fan, yet I just couldn't really bring myself to fall in love with this drawing. I like the expression that is shown on Tavi's face. I little bit of shyness but a little bit of cuteness.
The shading is nice and neat and the eyes are beautiful.
BUT, she looks like she just got out of bed. I like how you're trying to make it look more realistic, but it just makes it look pretty messy. I'm not complaining or saying that you have to change your drawing style, because i like it alot, it's just that if the mane (in my opinion) looks messy like that, i can't say that it's just a regular day for this pony.
More like if she'd gotten out of bed or had just been on a roller coaster.

Yes. This piece is more than a year old and now that I've gotten much better at drawing, at least in my opinion, so now all I see are the flaws I've failed to notice, unfortunately.

Ahh, a lovely picture. Octavia is my second favorite pony (next to Vinyl Scratch), but her elegance and charm has pushed her close to being my number 1 pony at times. And the artwork here is truly amazing in detail and style, but such is expected from a great artist like you :3
