Ok So, the picture I had shown before was prior to firing. This one is right after it is brought out of the kilm after a 3 day firing process. The white residue are ashes from the organic material (the leaf). This is easily washed away before the glaze or stain is added. NOTE: all organic materials burn-off, but some do leave permanent residual markings.Related content
