Description
These leaves I colected from wild castor bean plants and decided to use them in my ceramics class. I rolled-out a rather thin slab and then pressed the leaf onto it (being careful so the leaf didnt tear). I then would cut all the edges (meticullously) following the contours of the leaf. After this is done and you have a rough product then give it volume...I proped-it up on pillows. The edges that were previously cut should also be tended to; what I did was to "pinch" the clay between my fingers untill the edges were thin and "fragile" looking. This picture is of the leaves with the clay backing. They are being proped-up by some flufly lining I found...When they dry they are VERY fragile..believe me I lost a few.
