comic response to that last Adventure Time Episode ;n;
uhhh in my mind this comic is set BEFORE the current series, when Marceline was out traveling the furthest reaches of Ooo(before she tries to take Finn and Jake's house in her first appearance)
and that part with Ice King in there, in my mind, is supposed to be one of the first times Marceline has seen him after his complete transformation (which is why he doesn't know who she is yet)

Another thing, the lyrics of "Skyfall" by Adele, closely resembles to the story of Marceline and Simon. Look at this small portion extracted:

maybe...just maybe...
the witch was Betty...she went crazy too after the mushroom war and found ecstasy on draining all those aura filled with emotions that comes with your favorite things (a subconscious longing for the affection and happiness that she felt with Simon), kinda like...yeah...Ecstasy or other party drugs...
So I infer that she holds a trade every now and then for magic potions and other tools- one important object that a person holds near and dear for a powerful magical object; of course, the bitch Ash just loves power and saw her items of being in his interest. So he got Marceline's bear ('coz a bitch like him isn't capable of that kind of deep affection) and sold it to the witch.
The witch got a hand of the bear and she sensed that ecstasy that cannot be compared from the others she drained-It was the warm and affectionate aura of her dear love Simon; even though she remembered him, she was too insane (and "emotionally high") to think ethically and consider that this might be the most precious thing of a child, and it would brake that child's heart if that was lost. But things are already done; she kept her best "emotional drug" and gave Ash the best magic tool she had....
And I also bet that the flower was of significance of her and Simon (if my assumption of the witch being Betty is correct)

Wen I first heard of hambo, I could understand Marceline being pissed off for her boyfriend selling a precious childhood toy...I thought it was just a toy...
But this episode made me hate ash even more because he sold a beautiful, priceless link between Marceline and her dear lost friend.....
I want to pound ash's face in. :/

this episode had me worrying if Adventure Time is arming up the Drama Nuke for future episodes. It was beautiful but it felt...weird. It was like a WHAM episode.

LOL well it still had funny parts. Like the beginning with Ice King in the Marceline wig and singing to Gunther, about goo-nting his fries LOL and the part where he got tangled up in the wires
I think they're still gonna have their random funny episodes, and then also their character development episode. But I don't think they're ever really gonna stop going for the funny/random XD I think with stuff like this they're just giving us the character development that they know is popular with the older fans.
