Description

Something possessed me to draw fanart because I've been hooked on playing Pokemon as of late. I finally purchased a Nintendo Switch back in January and I'm slowly playing through Pokemon Shield and Pokemon Violet at the same time. I'm currently obsessed with a lot of the human characters from generations 8 and 9.

I beat Larry at the Medali gym last night so I decided to draw him! Tried a tone effect with the shading too! It's also been a while since I've drawn a human and this was a nice experiment as I'm trying to develop a more semi-realistic but cartoony human style but also a more anime looking style for humans. I rarely draw fanart just cause I find it kind of boring but also I feel my style makes it look too much like the original art style of the character instead of trying to take some artistic freedom because I worry the character will be too unrecognizable/stray too far from the original design. Drawing an existing character helped me with this and it's super useful for helping me develop my style more!
