hey look, I'm not dead....um, some sort of ninja guy, heheh..... I like how the background turned out, I think I got the colours almost perfect, and the clouds turned out quite nicely :]

Dude thats sweet. Your sky texture is near flawless and the trees add a mch needed edge between the sillouette and the sky. I think the guys sword could stand to be a bit longer, might make it a little more badass... but regardless this is definatly one of your better works... nice job.

Well, I used Adobe Photoshop, I started with the ninja guy by doing an outline which I then coloured in with a very dark grey after which I did the highlights along the outside and some farther to give the effect of folds in his clothing. I then zoomed in close and did the smaller details in the shirt then I did the same for his head hands and sword till I was satisfied with that then I went along the bottom with a large brush to make the shape of the tree line (the plane went through some turbulence at the time so I just put my finger on the touchpad and moved it across slowly the shaking did the rest for me, heheh) then I went along the edges with a bunch of different brushes to give the trees leaves. After that I made the clouds with some other brushes and then blurred them to give them more of a poofy look after that I made a gradient background and then I made another gradient to go over everything using colours I got from a photo I took of a sunset after that I made a few touch ups in his face. Hope that helps :]

it's all mouse, some of it is even the stupid touchpad, which is even more annoying than a mouse could ever be. The trick is to hold shift and click if you do it in short lines you can still make decent curved lines even though it just makes a straight line from click to click, instead of trying to draw with the mouse button held down, no matter what you do it'll always be alittle jaggedy that way... or you could use one of the other tools, but I don't use them so, beats me what works best with them. heheh
I plan on getting a tablet sometime in the future, would make things much easier. :]
